He is the master chef seen to be the chef and the host on the beach. Throughout the Bible, we see God as a chef hosting tables for people in many places in unusual places and circumstances.  He hosted the people of Israel with Manna in the desert. He prepared a table for them in the promised land. He prepared a raven to bring food to the prophet. Jesus prepared table for the five thousand with 5 loaves and 2 fish, and then another four thousand with 7 loaves and fish. Jesus hosted a table with his disciples on the night before his death.  Here, after resurrection from the dead, he is hosting a table for his disciples who were tired and disappointed.    The post-resurrection appearances of Jesus must

One day while the pastor was preaching about heaven and hell, he said, "Any one here today who wants to go to hell may stand up."  A teenager shook up the sleeping man and he woke up enough to hear the "stand up" part. He  quickly jumped to his feet. After collecting himself for a moment, the man then looked at the pastor and said, "Preacher, I don’t know why I’m standing, but it appears that you and I are the only ones standing, I think we are in the same boat."  The disciple Thomas woke up one morning and found out that he missed the story of  Easter.   All the four Gospel s - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - include in their Resurrection narratives a series of e

The dictionary defines "empty" as "containing nothing." You know the feeling when get into your car to head off to work or school or some place where you're in a hurry and look down at the fuel gauge and it shows empty. Easter is about a tomb that was supposed to be full, but was empty. Nobody expected it to be empty. But the tomb of Jesus being empty was good news for the world. In Matthew 27:61 We read that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary looked on as Joseph of Arimathea sealed Jesus in the tomb and then went away. The two women were left alone, their hearts full of resignation and despair. Jesus had been buried, with the tomb sealed and guarded by a wat

So, if you seek me, let these men go.” This was to fulfill the word that he had spoken: “Of those whom you gave me I have lost not one.” (John 18:8–9) After his battle in prayer, where his sweat poured out with blood. Then he led the disciples to the brook of Kidron.  He knew the soldiers would come come and arrest him there.  He is the second Adam in the garden not hiding like the first Adam, but telling the enemies that “I am He” whom you are searching for. He said, if you are looking for me, then let these men go free The Son of God gives up himself to the suffering of sin and death to give freedom to the humanity.  His prayer in the garden is still sounding from the corners of the earth where people are afr

The Four Cups Jesus Took

Buy my book   " Joy in the Journey " on Amazon now 20% goes to missions  The first cup Jesus drank was the cup of the new covenant while they celebrated the Passover before His crucifixion. "He took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” (Matthew 26:27).  The new covenant of Grace and justification as opposed to law and punishment received through Moses.  Those who repent of their sins will be saved by grace.  The second cup is the cup of obedience, that He took while praying in the garden of Gethsemane. He pleaded with His Father to remove this cup from Him. It was the cup that He embraced in full obedience to His Father’s will. And He withdrew about a stone's thro
